The Maj and Tor Nessling Foundation funds environmental research and the communication of scientific knowledge. The foundation’s general call for grant applications takes place yearly in autumn. In 2017, the foundation wished to advertise their call for grant applications on social media with videos that highlight the range of projects and researchers it funds. The aim of the campaign was to have the foundation receive solution-oriented grant applications.
We produced the “This Is My Environment” grant campaign for the foundation. With it, we highlighted two things that are important to the foundation: solution-oriented research and environmental diversity. The videos showed real researchers in their research environments.
Four researchers receiving funding from the Nessling Foundation featured as the stars of the campaign. We filmed approximately 25-second-long videos of each researcher, which were also edited into one video a bit over a minute long. We used the short videos as native videos on social media and they garnered thousands of views on Twitter and Facebook during the two-week campaign. The longer video is used, for example, at events or on the foundation’s website and it has also been shared on social media.
We aimed to make the videos timeless, so that they can also be used in the coming years in grant campaigns and the foundation’s marketing.
